Name.
This culture takes its name from an hypogeum close to the city of Cagliari, where the first evidences have been found.
Areas included in this culture.
Except for a weak presence in the area around Sassari, the culture from Monteclaro is concentrated in two main zones:
• Campidano, from Oristano to Cagliari
• Sulcis
The most important hypogeum are:
• Noeddale
• Marinaru
• Su Crucifissu
There are also some large villages:
• Sa Corona (Villagreca)
• Ruinalis de Segafenu (Nuraminis)
• Su Guventu ed Enna Pruna (Mogoro)
• Campu e Kresia (Simaxis)
Some other villages are located in the older area of the culture of S. Michele:
• Su Cungiau de is Fundamentas (Simaxis)
• Conca Illonis (Cabras)
• Fenosu (Palmas)
• Puisteris (Mogoro)
• M. Olladiri (Monastir).
