Bauladu is a small village 47 km. from Oristano that is dedicated to breeding and agriculture. Nevertheless, it's an interesting tourist destination.
To be noted is the Church of St. Gregory, dating back to the XIII Century. It was originally built in Roman style and later touched up in the XVIII Century.
In the surrounding areas, near Paulilatino, you'll find the Tomba dei Giganti (Giants' grave) in Muraguada. It was built following the typical structure of southern Sardinian graves, using big basaltic blocks and with no stele. The exedra is only partially visible and is composed of a wall and, atypically, of stones fastened to the ground. The grave's entrance has a rectangular shape 60 cm. high and 50 cm. wide.
In the countryside a few kilometres form the village, you'll find another interesting evidence of pre-historic Sardinia; the Nuraghe Crabia.
It has been well kept and has the typical tholos on the ground floor, allowing for the support of the first floor, with a staircase. On the right side of the Nuraghe, there is a tower and another hidden staircase leading up to the first floor. Climbing this second set of stairs, you'll reach a sort of external terrace.
Bauladu's surrounding cereal, vegetable, fruit and cheese productions will allow you to find numerous farm holiday resorts.
This little village, submerged in nature and silence, is the best location for a relaxing holiday, far away from the city's noise and frenzy.
