Bed & Breakfast Basilio is conveniently located in the historical centre of Gonnosnò, along the SP45 (county road).
Dating back to 1900 this building has been completely restored to host tourists, on 2005.
Situated on the ground floor, the two bedrooms are comfortably furnished and well equipped for the guests own use.
Both bedrooms have air-conditioning and own private facilities.
The spacious dining room on the first floor is also used as common living room with TV.
Guests can ask for maps, booklets and other information about the area.
Bicycle and car parking facilities; the backyard can host up to 3 cars (one covered parking).
Typical Breakfast with local products is served.
Daily room cleaning and tidy up; change of linen every three days (other than on arrival).
Sightseeing of Gonnonsnò
- The Giara flat mountain park;
- St.Salvatore Sacred (holy) well: A bronze age Nuragic well, covered by a 4 metres tholos roof, with a staircase (about 10 steps) that leads down to the underground chamber giving access to the groundwater spring;
- St.Elena Parish Church, dated back to XV century, with “retablo” dated at XVII century;
- “Beata Vergine della Natività” parish church in Figu, dated back to XVI century;
- The municipality of Gonnosnò is rich of archaeological evidence;
- Tombs of the Giants “Is Lapideddas”. These are the monumental collective tombs of the Nuragic civilisation, built between the XV and X centuries BC, often with carefully hewn stones and a ground plan recalling the shape of a bull’s head;
- The Nuraghe “Cumida Muru”, a powerful tower used both as a stronghold and as a dwelling, dated back to 1800 BC.
Other places of interest:
- “Costa Linus” local wildlife park.
- The water theme park in Baradili, just 2 km away.
- The castle-fortresses of “Su Nuraxi” in Barumini, the largest and best kept complex-plan Nuraghi, nowadays, 15 km away.
- The beautiful beaches along the Oristano gulf coast; the closest is about 35 km away (40min drive).
