San Teodoro

Over the last twenty years S. Teodoro has become one of the most popular Sardinian resorts.
Located only 25km from Olbia and within easy reach of the airport and the port, this old town is a must-see if you visit Sardinia.
Surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, S. Teodoro is by the sea and its coast is characterised by an impressive 18 beaches and countless bays, some of them reachable on foot only. With its fine white sand, LA CINTA is the most famous beach of S. Teodoro and also one of the most popular in the whole Sardinia. During the summer the water can get so warm that it is possible to bathe for hours whereas the gentle breeze allows lying under the sizzling sun for ages. The beach is well-equipped and, therefore, particularly suitable for children and young people.
From the beach it is possible to admire S. Teodoro lagoon with its thriving vegetation and its rare fauna, including pink flamingos, herons and wild ducks.
Cala Brandinchi is another popular beach of the area. Situated on the road to Olbia, it is also called Thaiti because of its exotic appearance. It is particularly renowned for its golden fine sand and for the beautiful pine forest surrounding it.
From Cala Brandinchi you can see the beautiful isle of Tavolara and also Capo Coda Cavallo promontory with its stunning sceneries.
From Capo Coda Cavallo you can get to the beaches of Lu Impostu and Le Farfalle, both surrounded by florid vegetation.
Another spot worth seeing is Cala Girgolu with its nice bays framed by junipers and rose-coloured granites.
Thanks to its superb location, S. Teodoro is the perfect starting point for visiting northern Sardinia; this is also the reason why the area can be reached by up to 100.000 tourists in the summer, most of them young people livening up the nightlife of the area.
