Sardinia Motorcycle Tour

DAY 1. Olbia - San Teodoro - Dorgali (110-120 km journey)

After arriving in Olbia, you will depart heading south-west coast of Sardinia. The starting point of this tour is Gallura, the north-eastern subregion of the island that has a jagged and articulated coast, with narrow and long inlets, granite rocks and fronted by numerous islands, including Tavolara and all those of the La Maddalena Archipelago. From here, during the best motorbike route in Sardinia, you will travel along the 125 Eastern Sardinian road to south-west, through the beaches of Porto Istana, Porto Taverna, Capo Coda Cavallo, Cala Brandinchi and the village of San Teodoro. We recommend a few hours of relax on one of these beaches and a nice appetizer in the lively centre of San Teodoro. In late afternoon you will be back on motorcycle heading south to Dorgali, where you will spend the night at the hotel.

DAY 2. Dorgali - Orgosolo - Arbatax (120 km journey)

After breakfast, you will go towards Orgosolo, in the Sardinian inland. Along the way you will cross the fascinating area of Supramonte, a vast and very ancient mountain range characterized by highlands and valleys, cliffs and forests, caves and springs, inhabited since prehistory and therefore rich in pre-Nuragic and Nuragic archaeological sites. You will also cross the village of Oliena, well-known for its "cannonau" wine. Orgosolo is a real open-air museum, thanks to its famous murals; here you will enjoy a typical lunch with shepherds, the authentic Sardinian shepherds, having the chance to taste some of the local dishes, to listen to the melodies of the Canto a Tenore and to feel involved in the rhythm of the traditional dances. In the afternoon, you will resume your Sardinia organized motorcycle tour and you will cross the nearby town of Mamoiada, where you can decide to visit the interesting Museum of Mediterranean masks. Finally, you will ride towards Arabatax, where you will spend the night.

DAY 3. Arbatax - Villasimius - Cagliari (180 km journey)

On the morning of the third day, you will head to Cagliari, travelling the entire east coast passing by Marina di Gairo, Quirra, Costa Rei until arriving at Villasimius, with its beautiful beaches such as Cala Sinzias, Porto Giunco, Punta Molentis. After lunch, you will take the 125 Eastern Sardinian coastal road, famous for its curves that make it one of the most fun routes to get around Sardinia by motorcycle. You will arrive in Cagliari in the evening where you will spend the night.

DAY 4. Cagliari - Pula - Carbonia (120 km journey)

The fourth day be dedicated to the west coast and during the journey you will have the chance to admire the beautiful pink flamingos of the Saline di Santa Gilla. Once in Pula, you can spend some time on the beach of Nora and admire the ancient Phoenician-Punic town. Your journey will continue to Chia, famous for the presence of some of the most beautiful Sardinian beaches. It will be a must here to take a refreshing bath in its crystal-clear waters. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Carbonia, where you will spend the night.

DAY 5. Carbonia - Costa Verde - Oristano (160-170 km journey)

The next destination of your motorbike tour will be Masua, where you can walk along the Nebida viewpoint to enjoy the characteristic scenery of the place; you can also visit the famous mines of Porto Flavia. In the afternoon, you will continue towards Oristano for 115 km on the west coast passing through Buggerru, the dunes of Piscinas and Torre dei Corsari. Once in Oristano, you will go to the hotel to spend the night.

DAY 6. Oristano - Bosa - Alghero (110 km journey)

On the sixth day you will move towards Bosa and on the way you will stop at S'Archittu, a cliff formed by sedimentary Miocene limestones. In Bosa you can take a break and explore the town, we recommend the Malaspina Castle, from where you can enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view. In the afternoon, your journey will continue until you arrive in Alghero, a Catalan city that you can visit for the rest of the day.

DAY 7. Alghero - Stintino - Castelsardo (135 km journey)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for Stintino and here you will make a stop at the beautiful La Pelosa beach, where you can relax all morning. You will leave Stintino only in the afternoon heading east towards Castelsardo, a medieval village preserved from attacks and destruction over the centuries thanks to its geographical position on a promontory overlooking the blue sea of the northern island. We strongly recommend a few hours of walking through the streets of the place, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and observe its historical and cultural wonders. You will then spend the night in the nearby village of Valledoria.

DAY 8. Valledoria - Santa Teresa di Gallura - Olbia (140 km journey)

The eighth and last day of this itinerary will have the Port of Olbia as destination. During the journey you can stop to visit the town of Santa Teresa di Gallura, a lively centre in the far north of the island and, once back on your motorbike, you may decide to enjoy your last stop in Porto Cervo, the most renowned town in Costa Smeralda, or in one of the beautiful beaches in this area.
