Discovering Sardinia from north to south

DAY 1. Arrival in Olbia

From Olbia - Costa Smeralda airport it is easy to reach the hotel we have arranged you. We left the first day free so you can freely visit the city of Olbia, recover from the stress of the journey and prepare yourself to one of the most beautiful and complete tours organized in Sardinia.

DAY 2. Departing for Aggius

After breakfast, you will leave for Aggius, a town located in the heart of Gallura and characterized by houses built with granite rock, among the most evocative ones of Sardinia. Then you will visit the Bandit Museum and continue the itinerary to northern Sardinia, to discover the city of Castelsardo.

DAY 3. Traveling to La Maddalena and Caprera

The second day you will head to the port of Palau, to board the ferry that will take you to the island of La Maddalena. You can independently visit the town and then, through a bridge that connects the two main islands of the Archipelago of La Maddalena, reach the island of Caprera, known for being the last home of the two worlds’ hero, Giuseppe Garibaldi. Of course, you can visit his home, where he lived for more than 25 years, and which is now used as a museum. This day's lunch is free.

DAY 4. Discovering Central Sardinia

After breakfast at the hotel, your journey will start from Olbia towards Supramonte, in the central Sardinia area, the heart of Sardinian traditions. Once in Orgosolo, you will discover this town, famous all over the world for its murals, and you will take part in the evocative Shepherd's Lunch, one of the most authentic experiences that you will ever experience in Sardinia. Lunch with the Sardinian shepherds of Orgosolo is a total immersion in Sardinian traditions and culture, and the shepherds will cook for you some of the traditional dishes, including porceddu. This day ends with the performance of the characteristic Canto a Tenore, with which you will say goodbye to Orgosolo, to leave for Cardedu, for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 5. Visiting the beaches of the Center

On the fifth day you will continue the tour of Sardinia by bus to the port of Arbatax, where you will embark for the Gulf of Orosei. Then you will start a small tour of some of the most beautiful beaches in central-eastern Sardinia, including Cala Mariolu, Cala Luna and Cala Sisine. You will have lunch on the ferry and return to Arbatax in the evening, around 6:00 pm, and then go back to the hotel.

DAY 6. A journey into Sardinian cuisine

The morning of the sixth day will be dedicated to a traditional cooking course that will teach you all the secrets and techniques of preparation of typical Sardinian dishes. Under the careful guidance of the chef, you will prepare some of the traditional dishes and then enjoy them at lunch. The afternoon is free.

DAY 7. Discovering Campidano

After breakfast, you will travel to Cagliari to explore the city in complete autonomy all morning, before enjoying the excellent lunch included in the package. In the afternoon you will have a guided tour of the city of Cagliari, with tasting included. You will visit the historic districts of the city, from the Marina to Castello and our expert guide will also tell you about the history and traditions of Cagliari.

DAY 8. A dive in the history and nature of Southern Sardinia

On the eighth day you will go to Barumini, to discover the Nuragic village of Su Nuraxi, the largest and most important archaeological complex in Sardinia, recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO. Then you will visit Casa Zapata, the ancient noble residence of the Sardinian-Aragonese barons. After that, you will travel to the Olianas Cellars for a food and wine tour and for lunch. The last stop of this day will be the Giara di Gesturi, an immense plateau of 4400 hectares famous for being the habitat of the last wild horses of Europe, known throughout the world as the Cavallini della Giara.

DAY 9. A mining tour in the Campidano area

During the ninth day you will head to the Sulcis Iglesiente, site of the first Geomineral Park in Europe. Here you will discover how the birth and development of the mines and the tireless activity of the miners have shaped the Sardinian landscape over the centuries: in fact, mining and processing of minerals have always been important activities on the island, as evidenced by the many prehistoric finds. After lunch, not included in the package, you can spend a few hours relaxing on one of the beautiful beaches of the south-western Sardinian coast.

DAY 10. Return home

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have to reach Cagliari airport on your own to go home after this enchanting 10-day tour of Sardinia that will always remain in your heart.
