The Foresteria del Teatro, or Theatre Guest House, is in the historic town centre of Paulilatino. In the province of Oristano, the town is in the centre of Sardinia, half way between Cagliari and Sassari.
The Foresteria is a holiday home originally designed to accommodate theatre companies performing at the nearby Grazia Deledda Theatre. The Foresteria is a renovated town house, a typical example of local architecture, built with basalt, and with tasteful and comfortable furnishings.
The Foresteria has four bedrooms, all with ensuite bathroom, TV and heating. Rooms on the top floor have air-conditioning. There is a room suitable for guests with disabilities.
Breakfast is served in a converted dining room that used to be a stable, with now decorative stone food troughs. On request, guests can dine in the Foresteria, tasting local products and traditional cuisine.
Paulilatino is in the southern part of Abbasanta. In the historic town centre, there are still characteristic houses in black basalt, with stones built into the façade as mounting blocks for horses, as well as rings for tying animals to, mostly donkeys. During the year, there are several religious festivals, with events that are centred around the great equestrian tradition of the area.
The town of Paulilatino is in a privileged position for exploring central Sardinia, with its wealth of natural and archaeological treasures. It is easily accessible by car or by train.
