Sadali is a medieval village of roughly 1300 inhabitants situated in Sardinia's Barbagia, the inland of the island in the province of Nuoro. What makes this village so unique is the presence of a magnificent waterfall in the heart of the city centre. The entire town in fact as well as being immersed in the luxurious Mediterranean vegetation, is built around water springs. Waterfalls, fountains and watermills are the distinctive elements here. Next to the waterfall is the S. Valentino church. Sadali is the only Italian locality to have Saint Valentine as Patron Saint (quite unusual) once people would come to the village to ask the Saint to help them find love and "a good match".
Nearby, the "Is Janas" caves represent a magic and fairy tale place absolutely worth visiting. A food feast not to forget is the " Sagra de is Culurgiones" celebrating the typical Sadinian ravioli (made with a potato or cheese filling) the second week of August.
